Automatic Waterer, Automatic Watering System

Automatic waterer, automatic water system, have you ever heard of these things? Chances are you have. But you know of automatic waterers as another name: the ordinary automatic lawn sprinkler system. These automatic waterers are the watering systems used by most buildings or landscapes that have vast lawns or greens. They will spout water at a certain time and keep the plants green and healthy without the need for any manual intervention. Such a marvel of invention right?

Well, for those of you who have always wondered how to get your own automatic water system at home, it actually is not that difficult to do it yourself. There are some specific steps that need to be followed and if you do it correctly, the cost-savings of doing it on your own could be tremendous.

First things first, if you really want to pursue making your own automatic waterer, you have to go check with your city hall for any permits or other requirements since you will be doing some digging on your property/lawn. These are all just precautionary since you don’t want to get into trouble and be caught by surprise while you are already in the middle of the work. You should also take the time to ask for any piping or gas lines that might have been installed underneath your property. It wouldn’t do if you accidentally hit something and cause a temporary blackout in your area.

Once you have all the requirement paperwork, it’s time to go and take a look at your lawn. Which areas would benefit most from the automatic water system? Is it the prized orchids or the plants that are hidden from every one’s view? Check to see which plants require more water and make sure that those will be in direct contact with the water from the sprinklers. Make the appropriate measurements, distances from where you want the sprinklers to be placed and how many would need to be placed. Then go check your water pressure if it can support the installation of an automatic waterer. You might have to make some modifications to your plans if the water pressure is not up to par.

Once you have got all of this down, you can then proceed to buy the automatic waterer components from your local hardware store. Most of it can be easily found and also very easy to assemble. Then you are off to create your very own automatic water system! Once you are finished, imagine the thrill that you will get from seeing those miniature fountains systematically go on and off and contributing to your lawn’s greenery. It’s every gardener’s dream project, and you can proudly say that you did it yourself!
